The Call for Schools is open to students from 14 to 18 years of age, who may submit their innovative on making related topics, e.g. robotics, programming, 3d modelling and printing, Arduino, art, drones, energy & sustainability, fashion & wearables, games, home automation, internet of things, etc. The deadline to submit the description of the project online is the 20th of May 2016.

The representatives of the 55 selected projects will be invited to present their creations during the Maker Faire Rome 2016 inside an area dedicated entirely to schools. Additionally, all participating projects will be prominently displayed on the Event web site, and introduced to national and international newspapers, radio and television.

Some examples of past selected projects include:

  • “The Brain Arm”: a robotic arm made using a 3D printer that moves with the “power of thought”;
  • “My Way”: an innovative cane for the visually impaired;
  • “Remember Me”: the child safety seat connected to the car and mobile phone that helps prevent “any forgetfulness”.

If you could help us to disseminate this call for schools through your communication channels we would greatly appreciate your support.
