new FÍS project website

Check out the new FÍS project website*! There are some excellent teacher resources available, including Anne Moriarty’s diary of the highs and lows of making a animation in her multi-level class in Sligo earlier this year. It gives a good sense of what’s involved for a teacher or school and shows just how enjoyable (and curriculum-relevant) film-making can be for pupils. Browse through the archive of films from previous years, see photos from the annual FÍS Film Festival event, and access the online CPD course for teachers.

*FÍS is a primary school initiative that encourages children to explore the medium of film and film-making in the classroom developing essential skills in moving-image literacy, communication, teamwork, visual arts and even numeracy. It is coordinated and managed by IADT and PDST Technology in Education.
