Digital Strategy for Schools

Oide Technology in Education provides advice and resources to assist schools in effectively embedding digital technologies into teaching and learning.

On 13 April, 2022, Minister for Education Norma Foley TD, announced the publication of the Digital Strategy for Schools to 2027 and the payment of €50 million in grant funding for digital technology infrastructure to all recognised primary and post-primary schools.

The new Digital Strategy builds on the achievements and ambition of the previous strategy and aims to further support the school system to ensure that all learners have the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills they need to successfully navigate an ever evolving digital world.

The strategy has been developed following an extensive consultation process.

Digital Learning Planning Website (www.dlplanning.ie)

The Digital Learning Planning website helps schools to plan for school improvement in digital learning. It provides an interactive version of the Digital Learning Framework, mapping standards and statements of effective practice to video exemplars.

It aims to provide clarity for school leaders and education providers in how to create a shared vision for how technology can best meet the needs of all learners.

School-based Planning Support

Schools may also apply for a school support visit from an Oide Digital Technologies Professional Learning Leader to aid them in their planning for digital technologies. This is available for primary and post-primary schools and aims to give hands-on support to schools to develop a digital learning plan and provide CPD where appropriate.
