Digital Images and Copyright in the Post Primary Classroom (online)

In this course, you will be introduced to tools and techniques that will help you to find royalty-free digital images and other resources to use in your classroom. You will learn and apply the conventions for citing and referencing digital resources. You will examine the basic principles of digital copyright as they apply to teaching and learning and devise activities to promote a greater respect for copyright from your students.

  • Devise activities to help your students become more familiar with copyright.

  • Demonstrations of search techniques and advice on how to effectively search for and find images as well as other resources online, while respecting copyright
  • Opportunities to create references and citations for different online content
  • Guidance on citing and referencing material from different online sources
  • An introduction to the copyright concerns for teachers using digital content in class
  • Descriptions of the different Creative Commons’ licenses that can be applied to digital images
  • Opportunities to devise activities to help your students become more familiar with copyright considerations.
