FÍS 2017 Winners

The 16th annual FÍS Film Festival took place on Thursday 16th November in The Helix, DCU, Dublin.


Ardfert NS have won Best Film of the Year with their film, "The Gooseberry Fair" at the 16th annual FÍS Film Festival, which took place on Thursday 16th November in The Helix, DCU, Dublin.

25 films were shortlisted for this year's FÍS Film festival awards ceremony, which celebrates achievements in film making. Excitement is high in participating schools across the country.

The awards ceremony were streamed live, making it possible for a global and national audience to be part of the celebrations.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the highly successful film project which supports the integration of digital media in the classroom.  Over the years the project has succeeded in helping children to develop essential skills in moving-image literacy, communication and teamwork in addition to exploring curricular topics in an engaging and child-centred way.
