Gain confidence with ‘Internet Safety’-related online courses: digital citizenship, cyberbullying and more

21st September 2022

All teachers are concerned with creating an environment in which children use digital technologies safely, ethically and responsibly. This requires some knowledge of topics such as harmful online behaviour, media literacy and privacy. But, for many teachers, internet safety and digital citizenship are very fast developing areas in which they want to feel more comfortable and gain more confidence. Accordingly, doing online courses may be the answer.

You may just want to get a better understanding of your role in supporting internet safety and digital citizenship? Or perhaps you are particularly keen to actively engage with your students and teach these topics in the classroom? Whichever your objective, we have a suite of complementary online courses to help you achieve your intended learning outcomes.

Note: Have you previously completed one of the earlier term time courses, or are you a primary teacher who completed our online summer course on digital citizenship? If so, engaging in our new (primary or post primary) course on cyberbullying is a good follow on activity. With this in mind, you can view and enrol in these courses at the links below.

Suite of ‘Internet Safety’-related Online Courses

This suite of courses was developed by PDST Technology in Education in cooperation with our colleagues in Webwise.

All courses are fully funded and provided free of charge to teachers. For the complete list of all of our online courses, please see the online courses section of our website.
