Digital Learning Planning

PDST Technology in Education provides advice and resources to assist schools in effectively embedding digital technologies into teaching and learning, in line with the objectives of the Digital Strategy for Schools (2015-2020).

A new Digital Strategy is currently being developed by the Department of Education. The strategy will take into account the progress made to date in embedding digital technologies in teaching, learning and assessment, new developments in digital technologies as well as any emerging priorities. More information from the DE.

The Digital Learning Planning website helps schools to plan for school improvement in digital learning. It provides an interactive version of the Digital Learning Framework, mapping standards and statements of effective practice to video exemplars. It aims to provide clarity for school leaders and education providers in how to create a shared vision for how technology can best meet the needs of all learners.

School-based Planning Support

Schools may also apply for a school support visit from a PDST Digital Technologies Advisor to aid them in their planning for digital technologies. This is available for primary and post-primary schools and aims to give hands-on support to schools to develop a digital learning plan and provide CPD where appropriate.
