The High Speed broadband program delivers high speed broadband to all post primary schools and to some special schools which have post primary students. The Schools Broadband team consists of the Department of Education, along with HEAnet, PDST Technology in Education and the Schools Broadband Service Desk. Schools are provided with a high-speed connection and with a managed school router, centralised content filtering, centralised firewall and associated services. The first schools were connected in 2010, and all post primary schools were provided with a high speed service by 2014.
